Meet Nawang Dechen
Nawang Dechen is the name my Tibetan Buddhist teacher, Geshe Nawang
Dakpa, gave me when I took refuge with him. Nawang Dechen
means one who has "good speech." Living up to my Buddhist name
continues to be one of my life's challenges.
Finding Mahayana Buddhism
Buddhists believe that it may take many lifetimes to come to
Mahayana Buddhism; it happens when your karma ripens. Like many
fellow Buddhists in lifetimes mired in obscurations, I believe that my
karma and intentions brought me finally to my teachers. I am a
practitioner in the Gelug
tradition of Lama Tsong Khapa.
